01 Who runs this site
ismailtaleb.com is the personal portfolio of Ismail Taleb. This page explains what happens to information when you visit it or use the contact form.
02 Contact form
When you send a message, the name, email address and message you type are passed to a Netlify serverless function, which emails them to Ismail's own Gmail inbox and may keep a copy in the site's content database (Sanity).
They are used only to read and reply to your message. They are not sold, shared for marketing, or added to any mailing list. To have your message deleted, ask through the contact form.
03 Google sign-in used by the site
The site's Google app is authorised only on Ismail's own Gmail account, and only to send contact-form messages to that inbox. It never asks visitors to sign in and never reads anyone else's mailbox.
04 Spam protection
The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which may collect device and browser information to tell people from bots. Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and Terms of Service (policies.google.com/terms) apply.
05 Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, using cookies and information such as device type and approximate location. Analytics data is not used to identify you.
06 Stored in your browser
The site itself stores two small values in your browser: your light/dark theme choice (localStorage) and a flag that skips the loading screen for the rest of your visit (sessionStorage).
07 Other services
The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs. Fonts load from Google Fonts and project images from Sanity's image CDN, so those services see your IP address when they deliver files.
